Monkeypox Registry

The International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) is collaborating on a new Monkeypox Registry.

On 23 July 2022, the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General declared the ongoing Monkeypox outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. To obtain more accurate and reliable information about the current outbreak, the American Academy of Dermatology and International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) are collaborating on a new Monkeypox Registry, which has been live as of 5 August 2022.

This registry is an expansion of the COVID-19 Dermatology Registry, which has now become the Dermatology COVID-19, Monkeypox, and Emerging Infections Registry. We are encouraging all health professionals that have seen a confirmed case of Monkeypox to submit information to the registry at www.aad.org/monkeypoxregistry. We encourage you to enter information on:

a) Monkeypox cases and/or

b) Monkeypox/smallpox vaccine reactions.

All cases submitted to the registry are de-identified, and the survey should only take 5-7 minutes to complete. Please note that case entry is open to all healthcare providers in all countries, but patients should not enter their own health information.

The goal of this registry is to collect and analyse real-time data on Monkeypox to rapidly inform our understanding of Monkeypox morphology, treatment response, and vaccines. It is our intent to swiftly disseminate these findings to the dermatology community and front-line healthcare workers.

The success of this collaborative effort depends on active participation by our international healthcare community. We thank you in advance for your participation.
