WCD2023 Doodles
We took inspiration from Google and launched the “WCD 2023 Doodles Project”.
A doodle is a simple drawing that can have either a concrete representational meaning or be composed of random and abstract lines. The most famous Doodles are realized by Google and are used to commemorate special events, achievements, and notable historical figures through special, temporary alteration of the Google logo. This inspired the “WCD 2023 Doodles Project”.
To honour the motto of WCD 2023 “Dermatology beyond borders” and to promote diversity and inclusion from time to time the homepage of WCD official website and the official logo of the Congress will be redesigned to give prominence to the skin diseases, convey good wishes for the major religious events and celebrate the special days for the dermatological community worldwide.
So far 10 Doodles were published and many more will come in the future, this project will last 3 years and will take us up to the Congress in 2023, so get ready to see many surprises along the way!
Each Doodle modifies 3 main elements in the homepage: the official logo of WCD2023 is customized in homage to each anniversary, a text box is added over the skyline of Singapore to host a celebratory message and, in some cases, the Doodle may also include the enrichment of the home page with the addition of new graphic elements..
An interesting fact about WCD 2023 website is that a daytime version of the homepage with a bright sky switches every 12 hours with a dark one following the day/night cycle in Singapore, a clever and unconventional way to tell which moment of the day is in the city hosting the next WCD. This alternation is respected also when a Doodle is online so there will be both a daytime and nighttime version that will liven up the website for 48 hours, taking full advantage of all the time zones.
5 new Doodles appeared on the website in December and many more will come in 2021, Stay tuned!
